Get ready for the Footbike World Championships

December 21, 2015 2 Comments

Germany 2012 Team FunHi I’m Jo Hassan – the one lying down – and I’d like to welcome you to the Footbike World Championships 2016 site.

If you’re as enthusiastic as I am about footbiking, then you probably know that the next championships will be held in Australia in 2016. The event will be held on the Gold Coast, Queensland from 8-10 July 2016 – and I can’t wait!

I live in Brisbane, Queensland (about an hour from where the championships will be hosted on the Gold Coast).

This is an amazing opportunity to share our country and passion for the sport with the world footbiking community.

I’ve been kicking with my son (Ali Hassan) for a few years and never tire of the sport. Nothing beats it when it comes to fitness, athleticism but most of all fun!

It’s truly a family affair for us. Ali has had podium World Championship finishes (Gold, Silver and Bronze) in the Czech Republic, Germany and Italy. I competed in the World Championships held in 2012 in St Wendel (Germany) and was thrilled to achieve personal bests. I attended in 2010 in Ivrea (Italy) to support Ali and the Australian team.

We invite you to “Kick Down Under” and come to Queensland in 2016 for the World Championships, whether it’s to compete or to watch – there’s no better excuse to see what this amazing sport and country is all about.

Over the next few months, I’ll keep you updated on the latest when it comes to the event, as well as things you need to know about getting here and making the most out of your visit.

If you’re still not convinced and haven’t booked those airfares yet, check out what Queensland has to offer in the video of me and some other local footbikers on a day out in Brisbane.

And then check out this link where Brisbane was voted “Australia’s coolest city”.
